The Institute of Law and National Security held a round table in the form of a videoconference on the topic "Current state and prospects for the development of public control." The organizers were the Chair of Theory and History of State and Law of Polotsk State University (the Republic of Belarus) and the Civil Law Chair of the Institute of Law and National Security of Tambov State University named after G.R. Derzhavin. Among the participants of the conference were Siedlce University of NaturalSciences and Humanities (Republic of Poland) and Kostanai Branch of Chelyabinsk State University, Kostanay (Republic of Kazakhstan).
At the round table, topical legal problems of the functioning and development of public control over the activities of public authorities in different countries were discussed. Associate Professor Ruslan Puzikov (Ph.D.) delivered a report "Legal Regulation of the Public Control Institution in the Russian Federation: Problems of Theory and Practice", and Daria Hasanova, a 3rd year student, presented a report on the topic "Public Control System in the Area of Housing and Communal Services based on the Example of the Tambov Region."
A report on "Bulletin of Public Information as an Instrument of Public Control in the Political System of the State" was delivered by Professor Adam Bobryk, Doctor of Science, Institute of Social Sciences and Security of the Humanities Faculty.
The scientists of Polotsk State University in their speeches highlighted peculiar features of the development of the institution of public control in the Republic of Belarus. Pavel Soloviev, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law, Master of Laws, made a report "Public control over law-making activities of the state." Dmitry Shcherbik, Head of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law, PhD in Law, spoke about legal foundations for the activity of public councils in the Republic of Belarus.
A report on the topic "Digitalization as a modern mega-trend, driver and effective tool" was prepared by Alimzhan Bekmagambetov, Deputy Director for Research of Kostanay Branch of Chelyabinsk State University, an expert of the Human Rights Commission under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Students of the Institute of Law and National Security took an active part in the discussions and asked questions to the speakers. Professor Valentin Nazarov, former Chairman of the Tambov Regional Court, was a special guest at the conference.
“Such meetings are regularly held at the Institute of Law and National Security. They are aimed at maintaining friendly relations and exchanging scientific contacts with foreign universities. With all the universities participating in the roundtable, agreements on cooperation have been concluded,” said Ruslan Puzikov, Associate Professor of the Civil Law Department at TSU.
