The Eighth International Festival "Days of National Cultures" was held in TSU

International Festival "Days of National Cultures in TSU named after GR. Derzhavin "is an annual cultural program for Russian and foreign students, within the framework of which they share national traditions and customs of their countries. This year the eighth festival is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Derzhavin University. In addition to students of Tambov universities, delegations of state universities of Vladimir, Lipetsk, Tula and other cities of Russia took part in it.

Days of National Cultures started on May 16th with the international competition "My country". The students presented their countries: they shared traditions and customs, spoke about national holidays, and demonstrated original costumes, songs and dances.

The program continued on May 17 with the student round table "International Youth Cooperation Today" which was held at the University recreation center "Galdym". The day ended with the festival "My Russia".

The final chord of the Days of National Cultures was a gala concert which took place on May 18 in the TSU Educational Theater. Vladimir Stromov, TSU rector, addressed the guests.

Days of National Cultures are a unique event of a federal significance. The festival unites students from 64 countries around the world. Thanks to intercultural interaction, we become more understandable to each other, friendly, and today it is more important than ever," stressed Vladimir Yurievich. “During the festival we also managed to exchange plans for creating favorable environment for foreign students, so that they could feel better and more comfortable in our country and take warm feelings about Russia to their homes.

The gala concert was opened by a flag show. In the program, the audience saw Indian, Chinese, African national dances, and, of course, there was Russian quadrille. Students from different countries staged a fashion show, demonstrating national costumes. Particular attention was paid to the World Cup, which starts on June 14 in Moscow and will bring together fans from different countries. Guests from Tula, Lipetsk, Vladimir and Michurinsk also performed on the stage.
