The 1st Youth Forum “Galdym - the Territory of Art” was held at the University recreation center. It became part of the TSU project "Territory of Art" - the winner of the All-Russian Competition of Youth Projects among Educational Institutions of Higher Education in 2018. The competition was organized by Rosmolodezh and Resource Youth Center.

For a week, TSU students and students of the Russian Institute of Theater Arts have been taught by professors from the two universities, they attended workshops on scenic speech, acting skills and stage movement.

“It is the second year that professors and students of Derzhavin University and GITIS have exchanged their experience and knowledge,” said Tatyana Kozhevnikova, Dean of the Faculty of Culture and Arts at TSU. “Before that, GITIS professors have conducted master classes at our university. This time we are trying a new work format for us: we are holding a forum with the participation of students and professors from the two universities.”

The result of the creative collaboration of students and professors was a competitive display of works. Nikita Arkhipenkov, a first year student of the Derzhavin University says that the tale “Silver Hoof” was taken as the basis for the performance. Each of the four teams performed it in different genres: a musical, a comedy, a tragedy and a thriller.

“The city is not only roads and houses. This is also a special cultural atmosphere,” - shared his impressions Sergey Chebotaryov, Head of the city of Tambov, Chairperson of the Department of Performing Arts at TSU. “We have agreed with the rector of GITIS, Grigory Zaslavsky, that next year another university will join us. We hope that the forum will carry the international status, and a large audience will see the results of the work.”
