Students of the department of history, world politics and sociology met with Konstantin Abramov, director general of the VTsIOM (All-Russian Public Opinion Research Center) Foundation. The students learned about the activities of the Foundation and the projects implemented by it, they discussed the role of expertise, analytics and analytical communities in improving the quality of managerial personnel and making effective management decisions. They discussed the state of public opinion in the Russian Federation.
“Analytical support of management activities in any field is the most important and most difficult task,” said Vladimir Stromov, TSU rector. “The VTsIOM Foundation is one of the best structures in the country, capable of effectively and successfully solving it. The Foundation has a lot of experience, established techniques and a brilliant reputation. We want to become its pivot in the region.”
VTsIOM director spoke about the social well-being, ratings of politicians, parties, and public institutions. The lecturer’s ideas and advice on time planning and task updating evoked a lively response from the audience.
“We hold the International Sociological Marathon, the Winter Sociological School of the VTsIOM Foundation and the RANEPA (Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy anf Public Administration), and the Grushinsky Sociological Conference. This is informative and useful in every sense,” shared Konstantin Abramov. “The profession of a sociologist is undergoing an obvious transformation: from the presentation of objective research results to their analytical support, from theory to practice, to the formation of a ‘customer-oriented consciousness’. ‘To know to win” that is our motto.
