The administration of the All-Russian Social Movement of Volunteers in Healthcare Service "Medical Volunteers" headed by Chairman Pavel Savchuk has visited Derzhavin University.

The meeting was attended by representatives of TSU, the administration of Tambov Region, Tambov Regional Medical College, the Tambov branch of the All-Russian Social Movement of Volunteers in Healthcare Service "Medical Volunteers". Together with the top managers of the movement, they discussed issues related to volunteering in the health care sector and outlined the prospects for the implementation of joint projects and programs.

One of the main topics was the involvement of foreign students in medical volunteering. Currently, a unique project “Integration of foreign students into the All-Russian Volunteer Movement in the field of health care” is being implemented at Derzhavin University. As Natalya Ershova, director of the TSU Resource and Methodological Center for Interethnic Interaction noted that it is the first time that foreign students of Tambov State University take part in the volunteer movement in the health care sector in Russia.

Following the meeting, Pavel Savchuk, chairman of the All-Russian Social Movement of Volunteers in Healthcare Service "Medical Volunteers", Edward Osmanov, director of the Medical Institute of Derzhavin University and Yevgeny Lapochkin, director of Tambov Regional Medical College, signed a cooperation agreement on the development of medical volunteering. In Tambov region, a joint “road map” and a united center for the development of volunteering in health care will be created.

“As part of the trilateral agreement, the regional branch of the All-Russian Social Movement of Volunteers in Healthcare Service "Medical Volunteers" will act as the coordinating platform for all volunteering in health care,” said Pavel Savchuk. “We will provide consulting, organizational and methodological support.”

In addition, the administration of the All-Russian Social Movement of Volunteers in Healthcare Service "Medical Volunteers" and activists of the Tambov regional branch of the movement in the village of Malinovka, Tambovskiy district, have launched the All-Russian campaign “Good Deeds for the Village” to improve the functioning of village medical and obstetric stations.

Medical volunteers improved the territory next to the obstetric station, removing rubbish and planting a cherry alley. The volunteers helped doctors of Tambov Central District Hospital to see patients at the obstetric station, and also conducted a comprehensive medical examination of patients at their homes.
